Intentional Community

One of the reasons staff come back year after year is because of the strong bonds built within the community.

Two weeks of staff training help foster a team of trust, respect, shared memories and common values.  Out community plays a huge part in the process of guiding campers in their faith journey which for many begins with their experience at camp.

Whether making fires, doing dishes, learning adventure activities, hauling firewood, preparing morning devotions, evening worship or Bible studies, life-long friendships begin.

While counseling or serving in a support role, staff members are constantly supported by the people around them through prayer, conversation, supportive letters, high-fives, and so much more.  And of course they find themselves supporting others right back!

The Pictured Rocks community is one of love, trust, forgiveness and building one another up.  Rooted in Christ, we recognize each ministry team member as an equally important part, support their gifts and talents and use them to benefit the body of Christ.

Through joys and challenges, our staff can rest assured they have an amazing support group of friends/leaders around them each day.

Testimonials

  • Being a part of Pictured Rocks Summer camp staff is so incredibly awesome!  Pictured Rocks has taught me a lot and I have learned so many life skills.  Summer Camp is a great way to learn more about Jesus and even yourself.  There have been so many memories at camp that I have had and some of my favorite moments are spending time with kids, hanging out with your best friends, going zip lining, caving, swimming, canoeing, hiking rock climbing, and even go on trips to Adventureland and Lost Island!  With all of that fun you get to learn more and more about Jesus and teach it to young spirited children.  Summer at Pictured Rocks has honestly been the best part of my life and I can't wait for another one!
